CCTV
The security guard will monitor a gallery via closed-circuit television. Their own image will also be transmitted inside this exhibition, by video, in real time.--
Surveillance cameras are essential for institutions to protect themselves and have their routine recorded in an archive, a memory against future risks. With the visibility of areas never before reached by the human gaze, these devices are available to view – even when inoperative. You may have caught yourself looking for a camera in a public place and, from this time on, the security and certainty of being watched will be permanent.
Who watches these images? Does footage work? How much attention is paid to them? Equipped with these concerns, Amador e Jr. Segurança Patrimonial Ltda. offers the service CCTV. The security guards will watch the images from the closed-circuit television of the contracting institution but, at the same time, their own images watching these videos will be transmitted to the exhibition. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?, a verse by the Roman poet Juvenal, can be translated as: who will watch the watchmen themselves? As if responding to you with images and cameras, CCTV creates a truly closed circuit, where those who observe will be observed by those they observe. At the same time, it will offer transparency to the institutions that hire it, showing security guards, whose job it is to observe an exhibition remotely, inside the same exhibition where their audience will circulate.
